Organizers and participants at the Summerland Pee Wee Rep Jets Hockey Charity Challenge sent a jersey to Christopher Walker, a former member of the Alumni Pee Wee Team.
Daryl Jenner of the Summerland Minor Hockey Association said the challenge was held on March 14. It raised more than $3,000 for the Jody’s Fan Club fundraising efforts. The money is going to help Jody Breitkrutz, who has been diagnosed with breast cancer and is undergoing chemotherapy.
Her son Jody Breitkrutz was in goal for the all-star team.
The tournament drew more than 450 people.
The final score was 9-8 for the Summerland Pee Wee Rep Jets.
Jenner said Patricia Gove and Lindsey Jenner, students at Summerland Secondary School, did much work to organize the game.
