Langley’s Ryan Hofer is set to coach Canada’s women’s volleyball team at the FISU World University Games next month.
Hofer, the head coach of the Trinity Western University Spartans women’s volleyball team, will serve as associate head coach for Canada’s entry at the Games in Gwangju, South Korea.
Four of his TWU players — Nikki Cornwall, Kristen Moncks, Alicia Perrin and Elly Wandel — will also be on the Canadian roster after making the final cut. The Canadian team held its tryout at the beginning of this month at the David Enarson Gymnasium on the TWU campus.
The Canadian team continues to train in Langley as they ready for the Games.
And another Spartans athlete, Regan Yee, has been named to the Canadian track and field team for the Games.
Yee will compete in the women’s 3000m steeplechase event.
