Holiday Festival on Ice returns for second year

Some of the top figure skating talent will perform while Holly Cole sings Christmas carols at the Langley Events Centre

In addition to some of the world’s top figure skating talent, this year’s Holiday Festival on Ice will feature award-winning jazz singer Holly Cole.

Cole, a Canadian jazz singer, will be at the Langley Events Centre on Dec. 6, performing Christmas favourites lives while the figure skaters perform on the ice.

Some of the stars slated to attend the event include figure skating legends Kurt Browning, Elvis Stojko and Joannie Rochette.

Browning is a four-time world champion while Stojko twice won Olympic silver medals in his career.

Rochette won bronze at the 2010 Winter Olympic Games in Vancouver, delivering a stunning performance with a heavy heart just days after her mother’s sudden passing. She became the first Canadian figure skater to land on the podium in 22 years.

Also slated to perform are Jeffery Buttle, Kimmie Meisner, Sinead Kerr, John Kerr and Shawn Sawyer.

This is the second year the show will be held at the Langley Events Centre.

The event will be filmed by CBC and replayed throughout the holiday season.

The show begins at 7 p.m. and tickets are available through Ticketmaster.
