Port Renfrew fishing is hitting full swing. Venturing out with Vicious Fish Charters on the weekend to the Swiftsure Bank was very successful with good chinook fishing out at the Chicken Ranch. It was good to see a lot of the regular guides having fun catching. Coho are starting to show as well. Halibut fishing has been steady too. Anchoring on the north side of the bank produced some nice catches up to 100 pounds. Crabbing is getting back to its usual good catches at this time of year.
The new Pacific Gateway Marina is now open offering moorage and fuel. It is located on Parkinson Road just past the garbage dump heading towards the govy dock. Port Renfrew Marina is in full swing as well with a new boat ramp in place and of course Judy’s Cookshack is open at 4 a.m. to take care of the early riser. Until next time.
Keep your rod tip up!
