For the first time this season the Fraser Valley Thunderbirds managed to pull off a weekend sweep.
The B.C. Major Midget Hockey League team took both ends of their series over the host Kootenay Ice, winning 5-2 and 3-1 at the Nelson and District Community Complex.
Game one saw Langley’s Jonathan Stein and Jonathan Rees each chip in with a goal and an assist while Kaelen Anderson had two helpers.
Rees had another goal and an assist in the second game as well.
With the victories, Fraser Valley improved to 8-6-4.
