The intermediate A Nanaimo Timbermen take their first steps in a new season as they play their home opener this weekend.
New coach Pat O’Dwyer told the News Bulletin last month that this year’s roster has a mix of solid returnees and promising newcomers and he expects a strong season.
“It’s a very high-level lacrosse, and it’s when those players take the minor step into the senior world,” O’Dwyer said. “I’m really looking forward to coaching this group of kids. It’s exciting.”
The team begins the B.C. Intermediate Lacrosse League season against the Burnaby Lakers on Saturday (April 25) at 1:30 p.m. at the Nanaimo Ice Centre.
