Aldergrove Youth Soccer Club is pleased with its participation in the Ombrelle Active Start Soccer Fest program.

Active Start is the first of seven stages in the Wellness to World Cup player development pathway.

The festival was held on the last Monday of their Spring Soccer season, June 16. Games were played as per the season schedule and after the game, the players enjoyed a slice of pizza and some juice to wind up their season.

Aldergrove Youth Soccer Club has been operating a co-ed spring soccer league this year, April 7 to June 16. The league has an emphasis on “Fitness and Fun” with a chance to hook up with old friends as well as make new ones.

Soccer players, ages four to 12, in the Aldergrove area play Monday evenings, in a fast-paced, fun-filled game on the artificial turf fields in Aldergrove. The teams are five to seven a side, depending on the age groups. The rules are modified to eliminate off sides, and with substitutions permitted on the fly. This is an entertaining and exciting game.

Spring soccer is aimed at soccer players wanting to continue playing after the traditional season ends in mid-March. It is also an excellent opportunity to introduce new players to the game as well as those kids that play hockey or have other activities that keep them from participating in the winter soccer league.

Players are encouraged to register for the fall soccer program ,which starts in September. Early bird registration ends June 30. Visit the website at www.aldergrovesoccer.com for details.
