Alex Feighan forced overtime with 12 seconds left and Robert Jang scored the winner 2:47 into the extra period for the Aldergrove Kodiaks.
The Kodiaks were hosting the Port Moody Black Panthers on Oct. 19 at Aldergrove Arena in junior B hockey action as the teams completed a home-and-home series.
Port Moody won the first leg of the series 3-2.
The Black Panthers led 3-0 late in the second period before Feighan and Josiah Friesen scored for the Kodiaks in the final five minutes.
And Aldergrove opened the third period with goals from Thomas Hardy and Scott Mackey to take a 4-3 lead. But Martin Campbell and Trevor Kang responded for Port Moody with goals 1:24 apart, forcing the Kodiaks to rally once again.
Both teams had 47 shots on goal and went 1-for-3 on the power play.
Ross Baadsvik made 42 saves to earn the win in the Aldergrove goal.
Jang finished with a goal and three assists, while Hardy (one goal, two assists), and Coleman Foisy (three assists) both had three-point nights.
The victory improves the Kodiaks to 4-4-0-0 on the season and third place in the Harold Brittain Conference.
The Black Panthers led the conference with a 4-1-4-0 record and a dozen points.
