The Langley Junior Blaze snapped a season-high four-game losing streak with a decisive 10-2 victory.
The Blaze U16 baseball team was playing the Whalley Junior Chiefs at the Whalley Athletic Park on Thursday (July 18).
And Langley scored early and often, posting runs in five of the seven innings.
Kevin Sengara and Danny Hollin both drove in two runs while Tony Pharand and Shayne Clarke crossed home plate three and two times, respectively.
Pharand, Nick Laflamme and Devon Bird had one RBI apiece.
On the mound, Josh Geerts went the distance, scattering four hits over seven innings and allowing two runs.
The win improved Langley to 25-8 and leaves them three and a half games behind the North Shore Junior Twins (30-6) for top spot in the B.C. Junior Premier Baseball League.
Langley has 11 games remaining, including four this weekend: pair of doubleheaders. On Saturday (July 20), the team is at South Surrey Athletic Park to face White Rock and on Sunday they are at Mundy Park against Coquitlam.
