Juan de Fuca juvenile squad tests provincial hockey champs

Juan de Fuca hockey team has close games at provincial championships in Chilliwack

They may have finished at the bottom of the pack, but Juan de Fuca saved its best for last at the provincial juvenile hockey championships in Chilliwack last week.

The JdF boys, who went 1-4 overall, gave the eventual champion Chilliwack team a run for its money, losing a close 3-1 decision Sunday afternoon that gave the host team a spot in that evening’s final.

Juan de Fuca’s lone win at the tournament was a 4-3 decision Saturday morning over Port Coquitlam, which narrowly missed making the championship game and finished third overall with a 3-2 record.

The West Shore team also lost 11-8 to North Delta, 8-3 to Langley and 4-1 to Coquitlam.
