Jaron Jeske had a bases-clearing double as Langley Junior Blaze topped the North Delta Junior Blue Jays by a 4-2 score.
The U16 baseball teams were playing on Wednesday night at McLeod Athletic Park.
Mackenzie Berry picked up the win, scattering three hits and two runs over four innings while striking out three. Rhys Cratty came on in the fifth inning and allowed just a pair of base runners over his three innings of work.
The Junior Blaze, who lead the B.C. Junior Premier Baseball League at 23-6, were also in action on Sunday, splitting a doubleheader against the second-place North Shore Junior Twins (22-10).
The Twins drew first blood with a 9-2 win before Langley rallied with a 2-1 win.
The Blaze were three outs from losing in game two when they loaded the bases and Wesley Moore belted a two-run double.
Broden Bydeweg went the distance, allowing just one unearned run. Langley scored their only runs in the seventh on Adam Reston’s two-run single.
