After earning her way into the starting line-up, Amber-Lee Kavanagh has also earned a spot on the all-rookie team.

The 5-11 forward for the Kwantlen Polytechnic University Eagles women’s basketball team was ninth in the PacWest conference in rebounding with 7.05 boards a game.

Kavanagh is a Brookswood graduate is a first-year player for the Eagles.

The team made the provincial tournament in Victoria as the fifth-seed last week, and after knocking off the No. 4 Quest 64-48, they fell 75-57 to the top-ranked Camosun Chargers in the semifinals.

The Eagles season came to an end with a 68-41 loss in the bronze medal game to the Douglas Royals. Kavanagh earned player of the game honours.
