The North Okanagan Knights’ offence has gone cold as the November weather.
The Kootenay International Junior Hockey League team dropped its third straight game Tuesday, falling 2-1 to the Steam in Summerland.
The Knights (9-13-0-1) host the Osoyoos Coyotes (16-5-0-0) tonight at 8 p.m. at the Enderby Arena (later start to accommodate minor hockey tournament).
North Okanagan has scored just three goals during the three-game skid.
After a scoreless opening period Tuesday, Riley Swiscoski potted his first goal of the year from Jack Berger at 17:44 to give the Knights a 1-0 lead heading into the third period.
Josh Pilon tied the game for the Steam at 8:43, and Riley Pettitt got the winner with 2:52 left.
Daniel Paul turned away 26 shots for the Knights while Jared Breitkreutz – who was cut by the Knights after training camp – made 18 saves for the win.
The victory moved the Steam (16-5-0-2) two points ahead of the Coyotes in the battle for first place in the Okanagan Shuswap Division.
