KIJHL: Rockies thump Leafs 7-4

The Nelson Leafs allowed four unanswered goals en route to a 7-4 loss against the Columbia Valley Rockies on Saturday.

Sawyer Hunt scored and had two assists, while Colum McGauley, Jordan Unger and Eamonn Miller also scored for the Leafs (9-12-2) in Invermere.

Leafs goaltender Ben Kelsch got the start in net but was pulled after allowing three goals on 19 shots. Jason Sandhu took over and stopped 11-of-15 shots.

Ryan Skytt scored twice for the Rockies (6-12-3), while Peter Matthews, Carter Beston-Will, Riley Knott, Jagger Thiessen and Colby Sherlock added a single apiece.

Nelson next visits Castlegar on Wednesday before returning home Saturday against Grand Forks.
