Knights crush Panthers 11-4

Langley reaches double digits in goals as they rout visiting Port Moody in junior B hockey

Four-point nights from Dylan McCann and Levi De Waal led the Langley Knights offensive explosion.

McCann had three goals and an assist while De Waal scored once and set up three others in an 11-4 rout of the visiting Port Moody Panthers on Sept. 25 at the George Preston Recreation Centre in PJHL junior B hockey action.

The win improved Langley to 3-2-0-0 on the season.

The game was tied at one midway through the first period but the Knights scored twice more before intermission and then the first four goals on the second period to put the game away.

The third period saw the teams trade goals as each scored four times.

Special teams were a big part of the game as Langley scored three times with the man advantage as well as another three goals on the penalty kill.

The Knights also out-shot the Panthers 66-37, with Cole Forbes picking up the win after making 33 saves.

Carson Rose (two goals, one assist), Oliver Alcock (two goals), Donovan Shambeau (one goal, one assist), Mitchell Biermann (one goal, one assist) and Alex Kalua (one goal) also found the back of the net.

Blake Gorrill chipped in with three assists.

The Knights are on the road for their next game as they visit the Grandview Steelers on Sept. 28 at the Burnaby Winter Club.

The next home game is Oct. 2 when the Ridge Meadows Flames visit the Preston Centre.
