Knights fall to Flames, Sockeyes

Just four wins on the season for struggling junior B Langley hockey club

A three-goal second period buried the Langley Knights last Thursday night.

Tied at one goal apiece after 20 minutes, the Knights surrendered three goals in a span of 5:37 on their way to a 6-3 loss to the Ridge Meadows Flames.

The junior B hockey game was played at the George Preston Recreation Centre on Dec. 10. The Knights were also in action on Monday in Richmond, falling 7-1 to the Sockeyes at Minoru Arena.

The losses leave Langley  with a record of 4-22-0-2, which puts them in last place in the PJHL’s Harold Brittain Conference.

Brandon Galbraith scored tiwce while Ante Mustapic had the other goal against the Flames while Nathan McCarnan finished with a pair of assists.

Noah Giesbrecht, an affiliate player, started in goal for the Knights and finished with an impressive 50 saves.

Against Richmond, Blake McCulloch had the lone Knights goal, which came in the third period with his team down 7-0.

The Knights host the Aldergrove Kodiaks on Thursday (Dec. 17) at the Preston Centre. Game time is 7:30 p.m.
