Knights rally, double Outlaws

Langley junior B hockey team scores five straight goals to erase 3-1 deficit against Mission City Outlaws

Trailing 3-1 — and in danger of dropping to fourth-place in the division — the Langley Knights rallied with five unanswered goals to double the Mission City Outlaws 6-3.

The junior B hockey clubs were playing on Thursday (Jan. 29) at the George Preston Recreation Centre and the victory opens up a three-point cushion for third place in the PJHL’s Harold Brittain Conference for the Knights over the Outlaws with four games to play in the regular season.

The Knights are tied in points with the Abbotsford Pilots at 42, but have played two more games.

After falling behind by two goals, Jayden Gill and Issiah Piers scored less than two minutes apart and Jackson Surbey notched the eventual winner late in the second.

Oliver Alcock and Tristan Craighead added third-period goals to round out the scoring.

Carson Rose had the other Knights goal early in the second.

Nickolas Trenciansky made 41 saves for Langley.

Brody Dyck led the Outlaws with a pair of goals while Bryce Pisiak had the other.

Langley is back in action on Jan. 31 when they visit the Port Moody Panthers.
