Three straight wins for Langley junior B hockey club

The Langley Knights continue to give the red light a workout, as they scored nine goals on their way to their third straight victory.

The Knights lead the Pacific Junior Hockey League with 55 goals through nine games and they are tops in the Harold Brittain Conference with a record of 6-3-0-0.

After picking up their first road win in four tries, a 5-4 overtime defeat of the Aldergrove Kodiaks on Oct. 8, the Knights kept their perfect home-ice record (5-0) intact with a 9-6 win over the Delta Ice Hawks at the George Preston Recreation Centre in junior B hockey action on Oct. 9

This was the second time in the past three games the Knights have scored nine goals.

Against Delta, Carson Rose led the way with five goals while Darien Craighead chipped in with one goal and three helpers.

The Knights led 2-1 after one period before a wild second period that saw each team score four times.

Colin Catchpole got the last of those eight goals, scoring on the power play in the final minute of the second period to put Langley up 6-5 after 40 minutes.

Catchpole finished with two goals and an assist, while Jacob Fricks (one goal, one assist) had the other score.

Oliver Alcock (three assists), Levi De Waal (two assists), Dylan McCann (two assists) and Hayden Smer (one assist) also found the scoresheet.

Nickolas Trenciansky made 42 saves.

The Knights will look to make it four in a row when they host the Grandview Steelers on Oct. 16.
