Kodiaks clinch division title

Second straight year Aldergrove wins PJHL's Harold Brittain Division

The Aldergrove Kodiaks have captured the Harold Brittain division title for the second year in a row.

The junior B hockey  club took care of clinching the title with three games to go in the regular season thanks to a 4-1 victory over the Abbotsford Pilots in PJHL action at the Aldergrove Arena on Feb. 4.

Brandon Dolby scored twice while Noah Wiebe and Joshua Poitras had a goal apiece in the victory. Ben Giesbrecht stopped 20 of the 21 shots he faced with Lucian Serban the lone Pilot to beat him.

The victory improved Aldergrove to 22-12-2-5 and 51 points, seven ahead of the second-place Langley Knights.

The Knights — who host the Kodiaks tonight (Thursday) at the George Preston Recreation Centre — can finish anywhere from second to fourth in the division.

With three games to play, Langley (21-18-1-1) has 44 points, while Abbotsford has 42 points and the Mission City Outlaws have 41. All three teams have a trio of games remaining.
