A three-goal second period helped the Aldergrove Kodiaks to a fifth straight victory.
The junior B hockey club was at the Mission Leisure Centre on Dec. 13, where they corralled the Mission City Outlaws 6-2 in Pacific Junior Ice Hockey League action.
The team’s winning streak is their longest of the season.
Ryan Veillet and Cole Gastel scored less than two minutes apart early in the second period to snap a 1-1 tie and the Kodiaks never looked back.
Veillet would add another goal before intermission and after the Outlaws’s Zachary Moses cut the lead to 4-2 early in the third, Stephen Ryan and Joshua Cronin scored late.
Cronin’s goal was an empty-netter.
Aldergrove’s Kenny Prato and Mission’s David McGowan traded first period goals.
Cole MacInnes stopped 22 of the 24 shots he faced for the win.
The Kodiaks are next in action on Dec. 15 when they visit the Port Moody Panthers at the Port Moody Arena.
The team’s final game before the holiday break is Dec. 19 as the Delta Ice Hawks visit the Aldergrove Arena.
