Aggie Field saw plenty of slo-pitch action last weekend as 12 teams assembled for the Ladysmith Madness Almost 12 Slo-Pitch Tournament to raise money for the Madness’s Easter Seals 24 Hour Relay for the Kids team.
The teams included many local players. Some teams came from Nanaimo, Chemainus, Duncan and Cooper Island, and even one team came from Victoria, The Dirty Dozen, who happened to be the team that took top spot in the ‘A’ division.
Ladysmith’s team Turbo placed first in the ‘B’ division category. Placing second in the ‘A’ division were the Warriors, and third place went to the Rockers. In the ‘B’ division, second place went to the Sticks, and third went to the Rednecks.
Totals are still being calculated, but initial tallies are well over $3,000.
The organizers would like to thank everyone who had a hand in making the tournament such a fantastic success.
