A 58-45 victory for the Pen High Lakers over the Salmon Arm Jewels improved the senior girls basketball team to 3-1 in AAA Okanagan league play.

Lyndzie Caron led the Lakers with 29 points and 16 boards. Chloe Brydon added eight points and 14 boards.

“Chalk it up to seven games in five days, with two long road trips, but our team effort was lackluster to say the least,” said Lakers co-coach Lesley Lacroix. “A slow start, the game was tied throughout the first quarter and into the second half, as a well coached Salmon Arm squad handled a variety of defences we threw at them. In the fourth quarter we finally pulled ahead, but it was a struggle.”

The Lakers now head into Christmas break with their annual alumni game Dec. 23rd. Among the alumni playing are Hayden Craig, Emily Clarke, Tessa Lannon-Paakspuu, Haylee Robertson, and Natasha Reimer.
