The Langley Junior Thunder made it seven wins in their past eight games with their highest offensive output of the season.
The junior A Thunder struck for 16 goals as they defeated the Nanaimo Junior Timbermen 16-13 on Saturday at Nanaimo’s Frank Crane Arena.
The win — the Thunder’s seventh in the past eight games — improved Langley to 7-5-0 in the B.C. Junior A Lacrosse League standings.
The Thunder led by one goal after 40 minutes, but they quickly created some breathing room with four goals to open the period.
Brett Dobray led the way with six goals while Reegan Comeault chipped in with one goal and four assists.
Zach Porter (one goal, three assists), Jake Taylor (two goals, one assist), Eric Ransom (four assists), Nathan Henare (one goal, two assists), Matt Messenger (three assists), Connor Buick (two assists) and James Rahe (one goal, one assist) all had multi-point games.
Brendan Mykle-Winkler, James Jackson, Max Weselowski and Mike Bosch chipped in with a goal apiece.
Ryley Brown stopped 25 shots for the victory, and also had two assists.
Up next for the Thunder are a pair of road games this weekend, June 15 at the Poco Rec Centre against the Saints (5-6-0) and June 16 on the island against the Victoria Jr. Shamrocks (6-8-0).
