Langley well represented at Star Bowl

Langley Football and North Langley Community Football had several representatives each at the Star Bowl in Chilliwack

Langley and North Langley were well represented on the gridiron at a pair of all-star football games at Chilliwack’s Exhibition Park on April 25.

North Langley had 11 players competing in the nine-man bantam all-star game, joining up with players from Mission, Vancouver and Westside to form Team Henderson and going up against their counterparts from White Rock, Richmond, Cloverdale and Coquitlam on Team Spartans.

Some of the highlights for the North Langley players included quarterback Jacob Stebbings scoring on a one-yard keeper play as well as Stebbings throwing an 18-yard touchdown pass.

And Andy Hanlon with a booming 65-yard punt as well as executing a perfect fake punt and throwing to Stebbings for a first down.

And representatives from Langley Minor Football suited up for Team Riders in the bantam 12-man game, helping their team defeat Team Tribe.

Langley’s Drey Blair — who plays for North Delta — had perhaps the highlight of the game, scoring on an electrifying 127 yard punt return.
