Langley’s Mallett qualifies for Scotties

Walnut Grove curler will lead her Golden Ears Winter Club team into next month's provincial championships

Team Mallett, which competes out of the Golden Ears Winter Club, earned their berth by accumulating points at various World Curling Tour events.

The rest of her team is made up of third Shannon Aleksic (Abbotsford) and sisters Brette Richards (Kelowna) and Blaine DeJager (Prince George). DeJager is the lead and Richards is the second.

The Scotties takes place at the Glen Harper Curling Centre in Duncan from Jan. 17 to 22 with the teams playing for the opportunity to represent B.C. at the national Scotties Tournament of Hearts Feb. 18 to 26 in St. Catherines, Ont.
