The green will be pristine for provincials.
The Nanaimo Lawn Bowling Club will host the Bowl B.C. senior men’s triples championship next week (July 5-7).
Twelve teams are entered, with half hailing from Vancouver Island, said David Mitchell, the Nanaimo club’s marketing director.
“It’ll be pretty high-calibre,” he said. “To bowl at the provincial level you have to be pretty efficient.”
The Nanaimo club will have two teams in the draw, one skipped by Vern Hagstrom and the other skipped by Rick Quibell.
The double-knockout tournament will feature morning, afternoon and evening draws on Tuesday and Wednesday, with the finals on Thursday.
Mitchell said visitors are encouraged to stop by the club and watch the matches. The Nanaimo Lawn Bowling Club is located at Bowen Park.
