Aldergrove’s Cindy Legare, an accomplished bodybuilder and physique competitor, took home a second place trophy at the 2014 Sandra Wickham Fall Classic this past weekend.

This was the competition’s 11th annual event, held at the Massey Theatre in New Westminster.

“Mastering your mind and becoming the best version of you, now that’s the real prize,” said Legare. “It’s about discipline and staying the course when your mood doesn’t want to. I enjoy the process and learning how to dial it in better, smarter – not harder.”

As a certified sports nutrition advisor and personal trainer, Legare’s goal throughout her contest preparation was to stay true to the health values that she emphasizes to her clients.

“My mission was to stand on stage without jeopardizing my health, to do no ‘traditional’ cardio to get to stage ready and to keep my contest diet all nutrient dense and all about health and wellness. Mission accomplished.”

Legare’s second place Master’s Physique category win has earned her a spot to compete at the B.C. Championships in June.

Legare trains out of Apocalypse Training and Fitness, located at #30-26157B 262 Street, in Aldergrove. Apocalypse is one of the only clubs in the Lower Mainland to offer a full gym and a full high performance cross training/boot camp facility, all in one. Their boot camps run year round and nutrition counselling and personal training are also available.
