One out from improving to 3-0 at the 11/12 Majors Little League provincial championships and the Langley All-Stars surrendered the game-tying home run.
And that proved costly, as given a second chance, Hastings scored once in the bottom of the 10th inning to win 4-3.
The two teams were playing at Victoria’s Hampton Park, site of the provincial championships.
The win improved Hastings to 3-0 while Langley dropped to 2-1.
Hastings scored twice in the first to lead 2-0, before Langley got on the board in the top of the second when Ian Burns scored on a fielder’s choice from Riley Ens.
Langley took the lead in the third with a pair of runs with both Cole Cantelon and Yi Fan Pan scoring on separate wild pitches.
Langley will look to get back in the win column on Wednesday (July 27) afternoon when they face Layritz (2-1).
The top four teams in the seven-team event make the playoff round, with the championship final set for Sunday (July 31).
The winner represents B.C. at the Little League national championships in North Vancouver.
