Abbotsford’s Steve Marshall and the Canadian men’s indoor volleyball team claimed the bronze at the Pan Am Games on Sunday against Puerto Rico, taking the match 3-1 in sets.
Through the Games, Marshall scored four points and tallied four blocks, along with a rally-saving left-boot dig against Mexico in the opener that made highlight reels around North America.
The men’s team lost to the eventual champions, Argentina, in the semi-final round to land in the bronze match. They stood undefeated until the knockout stage, beating Mexico, Puerto Rico and the U.S. in preliminaries.
Argentina faced Brazil in the gold medal game, winning in five sets.
