Midget Tier 2: Provincials start Sunday

Public invited to come and cheer on teams

Getting ready: Carri’s Restaurant Midget Tier 2 Silvertips made their presence known at Friday’s SilverBacks game at Sunwave to promote the upcoming championships.

The Carri’s Restaurant Midget Silvertips will be the home team in the upcoming Midget Tier 2 Provincial Championships being held in Salmon Arm from Sunday, March 20 to Wednesday, March 24.

The following teams are representing Midget Tier 2 hockey at its finest: Kamloops, Ft. St. John, Cranbrook, Williams Lake, Alberni Valley, Surrey, New Westminster, Rossland/Trail  and Salmon Arm.

The ’Tips will start the round robin,  playing Kamloops on Sunday, March 20 at 11 a.m.  The opening ceremonies will take place at 7:30 p.m. in the Spectator arena. The Silvertips will take on Fort St. John at 8 p.m. Sunday.

On Monday, the ’Tips take on Cranbrook at 8 p.m.

A Rossland/Trail matchup versus Salmon Arm is scheduled for 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday,  March 22.

Following these games, the schedule will be determined by the round robin.

The championship game is set for 8 p.m. on Wednesday, March 23.

The Silvertips  appreciate Salmon Arm’s continued support and welcome everyone to come out and watch the fun and excitement. This will be high level hockey.

• Salmon Arm Chevy’s Silvertips Pee Wee Tier 2 team will be showing their stuff  in Aldergrove from March 19 to 24.

As the Okanagan Mainline Amateur Hockey Association champions, they’re representing the Okanagan at the Pee Wee Tier 2 Provincials on the Coast.

Nine teams will be involved, including Cranbrook, Campbell River, Fort St. John, Rossland/Trail, Williams Lake, Burnaby Winter Club, Semiahmoo, Aldergrove and Salmon Arm.
