Clearwater Midget Ice Hawks had an exciting two days last weekend when they hosted an eight-team tournament.
The local squad had some great games, going undefeated all weekend, and then winding it up with a come-from-behind barn-burner final on Sunday.
The teams taking part came from Fort St John, Houston, Fraser Lake, Chilliwack, North Vancouver, 100 Mile House, and Kelowna.
Clearwater started off Friday against Houston, winning 5-2.
Saturday brought the Ice Hawks to their next opponent, playing Fort St John and taking another win 8-3.
Saturday evening had the Hawks played against North Vancouver in front of a packed house. Their third win 10-7 moved them on to the final game on Sunday against Kelowna for first place.
Sunday’s afternoon game was full of excitement. The Ice Hawks were down 4-1 going into the third period. However, the boys battled back against Kelowna, scoring five goals in the last period to take the win for first place with a victory of 7-5.
