Minor football action Sunday in Langford

Greater Victoria Minor Football takes over Westhills Stadium

The three Westshore Warriors teams in Greater Victoria Minor Football will be in action this Sunday (May 10) at Westhills Stadium, as they take on their respective Peninsula Wildcats opponents.

The atom division game gets underway at 11 a.m., followed by the junior bantams at 1 p.m. and the pee wees at 3.

The Westshore atoms sit with a 1-2 record in fourth spot, while the pee wee Warriors hold down second place at 3-1, one win behind league-leading Saanich Wolverines. The JB Warriors sit tied atop their division with a 3-0 record, same as the Gordon Head Raiders.

For some young footballers, this evening (May 8) sees them taking part in a quarterbacks and receivers mini-camp at City Centre Park with longtime B.C. Lions superstar Geroy Simon, the Canadian Football League’s all-time leading receiver, and QB coach Jay Prepchuk. The paid camp runs from 5 to 8 p.m.
