Mission well represented at 2012 BC Summer Games

A number of Mission athletes met with the mayor Monday

Mission has celebrated many outstanding athletes over the years and 2012 will not be an exception.

Four hard-working kids will be proudly competing for Mission, and the Fraser Valley, at the upcoming Games occurring, July 19-22 in Surrey.

Mayor Ted Adlem met with and congratulated the athletes at the Mission Leisure Centre Monday afternoon.

Max Chadwick (15U indoor volleyball), Jaime Rourke (15U indoor volleyball), Makenzie Rourke (12U soccer) and Bryce Fillion (100 m, long jump and triple jump) will be joining the more than 3,700 athletes, coaches and officials at the Surrey 2012 BC Summer Games.

The Opening Ceremony, held at Holland Park, will kick off the four-day sporting event featuring competitions in 20 different sports at 13 different venues across the region.
