The Nanaimo Clippers bolstered their forward ranks, announcing three new player commitments this month.
Michael Fahie, Jamie Collins and Aidan Casey will join the city’s B.C. Hockey League club for 2016-17.
Fahie, 18, is a 5-foot-10, 160 pounder who scored 19 goals in 26 games last season playing prep-league hockey for Noble and Greenough School in Dedham, Mass. Hailing from Pembroke, Mass, he already has an NCAA Div. 1 scholarship to Brown University.
Jamie Collins, 19, is 5-foot-8, 160 pounds. He comes to the Clippers from Fergus, Ont., via Culver Military Academy in Indiana where he scored 63 points in 49 games. He has an NCAA Div. 1 scholarship to Clarkson University.
Aidan Casey, 18, hails from Toronto where he played for the North York Rangers as that team won the Telus Cup national midget AAA championship. During the team’s playoff run, Casey scored 12 goals in 13 games, after scoring 38 points in a 30-game regular season. He stands 5-foot-9, 165 pounds.
The Clippers will hold their final player-identification camp of the spring next weekend (May 28-29) at Cliff McNabb Arena.
