The blazing sun had the U14 Shuswap Selects girls team perspiring before the game started.
When the whistle blew, the play seemed pretty even between the Kamloops Blaze and the Selects. After a few minutes, however, the ball didn’t seem to want to leave Shuswap’s half. It was shot after shot, corner kick after corner kick, but the score remained at zero.
Shuswap got a few chances in Kamloops’ end, but couldn’t find the back of the net.
Near the end of the game, both teams had some close calls, but were unsuccessful in getting a ball past either of the keepers. The game ended in a scoreless tie.
