Nine medals for local skate club

Langley Figure Skating Club also selected to attend national apprenticeship program

Members of the Langley Figure Skating Club had a strong showing over the weekend at a Winterskate competition in Delta.

Diana Hong won silver in the silver interpretative ladies category, while also placing sixth in the gold ladies division.

Kate Boyes was fifth in the bronze ladies interpretative division.

Other medal winners and top 10 finishes included:

Star 1 — Amy Xie (silver), Alice Son (bronze), Caity Nash (bronze).

Star 2 — Lucy Zhou (bronze), Amu Fukao (silver), Mikayla Holmquist (bronze).

Star 3 — Sasha Sharman (bronze).

Star 4 — Kayla Halliday (silver).

Star 5 — Emi Gelineau (10th), Kate Boyes (eighth).

Langley Figure Skating Club coach Regan Taylor has been selected by Skate Canada to attend the National Coaches apprenticeship program.

It will be held in Hamilton, Ont. this April during the Synchronized Skating world championships.

Only 25 coaches from across the country were selected to attend.
