North Langley Royals win bronze

Twenty-three U12 teams were battling for medals as Langley's Noel Booth Park hosted the regional C softball championships

The North Langley Royals made sure the hosts did not leave empty-handed from Noel Booth Park.

The Royals captured the bronze medal at the U12C regional championships, which were held at Noel Booth Park on June 7 and 8.

The 23-team tournament — which featured squads from Langley, North Langley, Abbotsford, Mission, Cloverdale, North Delta, Chilliwack, North Surrey, Fleetwood Park, South Surrey White Rock and South Delta — and they were split into three divisions following the round robin: Red, Blue and Black.

It was co-hosted by Langley Fastball and North Langley Softball.

The Royals defeated the South Surrey White Rock Hurricanes in the bronze medal game in the Red pool.

The gold was won by the North Surrey Misfits who beat the Chilliwack Chaos.

The Blue pool was won by the Mission Machine who defeated the South Surrey White Rock Black Panthers. The Surrey Thunderstorm beat the South Delta Socks for the bronze.

And in the Black pool, the Fleetwood Purple People Eaters won gold over the Mission Hornets. Bronze went the Cloverdale Jets after they beat the Abbotsford Thunder.
