Trinity Western Spartans’ Emma Nuttall and Calum Innes were both recognized for outstanding performances at the Canada West track and field championships over the weekend in Regina.
Nuttall won the gold medal in the high jump, clearing 1.85m, which also set a new Canada West record, and was named the top female performer at the meet.
Innes captured gold in the 60m hurdles and a silver in the 60m race. He also set a new school record in the latter and was named the Canada West male outstanding track performer.

Alison Jackson also won a gold medal in the 3000m and a silver in the 1500m and Rebecca Marchant also win silver in the pole vault.
The Spartans rounded things out with bronze medals from Ayla Akehurst (triple jump), Liza Whitehead (60m), Fiona Benson (1500m) and Jamie Sinclair (pole vault).
And the women’s 4×200 and 4×800 relay teams both took bronze to give TWU a dozen medals.
