Island Offroad Racing are hosting dirt track racing at the Alberni Motorsport Park, near Woodward Pit, on Saturday, June 25 and Sunday, June 26.

This family event will kickoff on Saturday at 1 p.m. with an obstacle event and end with a team relay race.

On Sunday, events will begin at 12 p.m. with sand drags and continue throughout the day to heat laps, sportsman and heavy metal wheel-to-wheel, the main event.

Between the races there will be vehicles driving through a mud hole. All mud registration must be done before 10:30 a.m. on Saturday and Sunday.

Street legal vehicles are welcome and can race in the obstacle and sand drag events and can be driven through the mud hole.

“The sand drags are a great event because there’s always that debate that one friend’s truck is faster than the others,” Darrion Alarie, Island Offroad Racing spokesperson said.  “What better way than on the sand drag strip to settle it.”

Buggys and ATVs are also welcome at the pit during the event.

Admission is free on Saturday and $5 on Sunday and a consession will be available both days.
