A Nelson skip will lead her rink into the Master Women’s Provincials next month.

Skip Cathy McLeod’s team will represent the Kootenays after beating Creston’s Cherie Baker and Cranbrook’s Joan Fielder in a double knockout round robin.

The Masters opens March 6 in Cranbrook.

Meanwhile, the Nelson Curling Centre hosted its annual Mixed Valentine’s Bonspiel.

Sixteen teams from Castlegar, Riondel and Nelson competed Friday to Sunday, with Castlegar skip James MacKenzie’s team of Michelle Kooznetsoff, Brad Hildebrand and Susan MacKenzie taking the top prize.
