Okanagan Destroyers give strong performance at Western Canadian championships

After going undefeated in the provincial championship in Burnaby, the Okanagan KPSW Destroyers finished fifth during the Western Canadian championship.

After going undefeated in the provincial championship in Burnaby, the Okanagan KPSW Destroyers finished fifth during the Western Canadian championship.

The Destroyers faced strong competition that helped them gain personal and team achievements during the championship held in Sherwood Park, Alta from March 23 to 27. In the skills competition, Jessica Martin was third in the fastest skater event, Joanna Cowper was third in agility, Breanne Stoll was the second best in shooting accuracy, while Kaitlyn Collins was second in hardest shot and Tiffany Taschuk’s stellar performance earned her top goalie honours. Special congratulations to Brianne Hrynyk who won the shoot-out and was named to the WCRC all-star team as a centre.
