Olympians swimmers shine in Victoria

Langley swim club members grab 15 medals at Victoria meet

A trio of swimmers have qualified for the upcoming B.C. AAA swimming championships.

The swimmers, part of the Langley Olympians, were in Victoria for the provincial AA long course championships from June 22 to 24.

Brayden Kells, 10, qualified in two events — the 50 free and 100 breast — and also won a pair of silver medals in the 50 free and 200 breast. He placed fourth in the 100 breast.

Ellen Lansing, 11, made qualifying times in the 100 back, 200 back and 400 individual medley. She also won gold in the 100 back and 400 IM, while placing fourth (200 IM) and sixth (200 breast) in two other events.

And Pearl Schramm, 11, achieved two qualifying times in the 100 and 200 breast events, as well as picking up silver medals in both. She also had an eighth place finish in the 200 IM.

Brandon Miller picked up multiple medals in his events. The 14-year-old won gold in the 100 back, 1500 free, 400 free and 200 free events, plus silver in the 200 free and bronze in the 50 free.

Alysse Franklin, 13, won silver in the 400 free, 200 free and 200 back. She was also fourth in the 200 IM and 100 back, fifth in the 50 free and seventh in the 100 free.

And Josie Feidl, 10, was sixth in the 200 IM and eighth in the 100 back.
