The University of the Fraser Valley women’s basketball team saw their season come to an end with a 75-69 loss to the University of Ottawa Gee Gees.
The teams squared off in the CIS East Regional tournament, with a national berth on the line.
The Gee Gees got off to a fast start, leading by six after one quarter, and four at halftime. The Cascades got as close as one point but never pulled even.
Chilliwack’s Kayli Sartori was UFV’s player of the game, scoring 15 points and adding seven assists.
Winnipeg’s Tessa Klassen had 14 points. Mission’s Aiesha Luyken had 11 points and Chilliwack’s Nicole Wierks had 11 points.
UFV’s overall record this season was 14-9.
