After a first half where neither team could gain the upper hand, Langley United struck for the game’s lone goal in the 55th minute.
Mattias Jahn made a great run down the left-side of the field and sent the ball across to Noah Owen.
Owen took the pass and slotted the ball into the bottom corner and Langley won 1-0 over the Richmond United Selects.
The two U13 boys’ soccer clubs matched up in the B.C. Coastal A Cup quarter-finals in Richmond.
The victory advances Langley to the semifinals tomorrow (Saturday) at Willoughby Park against the North Vancouver Fury. Game time is 1 p.m.
In the U13 B.C. Coastal B Cup quarter-finals, Langley United lost 3-0 to Coquitlam Metro Ford Nitro.
