Peewee Ravens stomp Peninsula – next up, Saanich

Campbell River lacrosse team needs to beat the Saanich Tigers in the next round to qualify for the B.C.'s

The Subway Ravens Peewee B lacrosse team is one step closer to earning a provincial berth.

The Ravens traveled to Sydney on the weekend to take on the Peninsula Panthers in a best-of-three series.

In game one, the Ravens controlled play and were up three goals by the end of the first period. Peninsula responded with a powerplay goal, but the Ravens never looked back and ended up walking away with a 7-3 win led by Heydon Campbell who scored his first hat-trick of the season.

In the second game, the Ravens again dominated every aspect of play while the Panthers struggled.

Several Campbell River players posted goals and assists in 13-1 beat-down. The Ravens were led by Reid Matthews and Carson Foy who both notched hat-tricks.

In the next round of playdowns, the Ravens face the Saanich Tigers. The winner of that series will secure one of the two provincials.
