Penticton BMX riders bring home hardware from national race

Penticton BMX members competed in Squamish for the Sea to Ski nationals

Penticton BMX members picked up a few trophies competing in Squamish for the Sea to Ski National June 3-5.

Al Box took third in the crusier class on the last day after finishing sixth on June 4. Marquez Gonzalez qualified in the 8x open Sunday and was third, he also took fourth in the 8-12x Open.

Zane McLean qualified in 5 Inter all three days and took second on Friday, fourth on Sunday and fifth on Saturday.

Brody McLean qualified for his Cruiser all three days winning Friday and taking fourth on Saturday and Sunday. In the 8x class, he qualified and placed fifth.

Adero Gonzalez raced the half track and finished fourth on Friday and Saturday.

This weekend the club is hosting a provincial race starting at approximately 9:30 a.m. and going until about noon. Once the race is complete, the members will travel to Kelowna. On Sunday, there are provincial races in Vernon and Kamloops. These are B.C. district races which can qualify the riders for national championships.
