Trio of Penticton soccer teams capture PFC Cup, Pinnacles FC hands out awards

Pinnacles FC crowned its house league champs in the PFC Cup the weekend of June 24.

Defending their championship were the under-16-18 girls coached by Pat Buchanan. They defeated Mario Carelse’s team 5-1 with Lauren Smith leading the way with a pair of goals and Andi Main, Dani Balzer and Molly Wells rounding out the offence.

“It was a good ending. I was happy,” said Buchanan. “They played really, really good.”

Buchanan’s team conceded one goal in three games. Carelse’s side won the regular season with four wins and two losses, while the PFC champs won three of their six games in the regular season.
