Pilots and Outlaws renew rivalry

Abbotsford Pilots pick up two wins in conference play, moving into third place in conference.

The Abbotsford Pilots search for consistency continues this weekend as they face off against the Mission Outlaws Friday at MSA Arena at 7:30 p.m..

With two wins last weekend, the Pilots moved past Ridge Meadows and into third place in the Harold Brittain Conference. But with a record of 8-9-0-1, the Pilots continue to search for the high standard of play they have set the past several years.

The Pilots beat the Outlaws 5-2 last Saturday in Mission, thanks to four goals in a span of just 3:26 early in the third period.

The day before, the Pilots had downed the Grandview Steelers 5-4 at MSA Arena.

Cole Methorst led the way for the Pilots with a pair of markers, while Devan Vander Wyk and Devon Becker each notched a goal and an assist.

The Outlaws, meanwhile, sit last in the conference with a record of 5-10-1-1 and head into Friday’s game having lost four straight.
