The Abbotsford Pilots blitzed the Grandview Steelers 6-1 on Friday at MSA Arena.

Aaron Oakley stopped 29 of 30 Steelers shots, and the local junior B club got goals from six different players in the victory.

Justin Dorey, Brady Lawlor and Brett Kolins staked the Pilots to a 3-0 lead at the first intermission, and Luke Venema and Garett Lynum boosted the lead to 5-0 early in the second. Danny Merth got Grandview on the board at 12:06 of the middle frame, but Abby’s Riley Lamb responded just 25 seconds later to round out the scoring.

The Pilots (22-9-2-0) are two points back of the Aldergrove Kodiaks in the Pacific International Junior Hockey League’s Harold Brittain Conference.

They return to action on home ice on Friday, as they host the Port Moody Black Panthers (7:30 p.m., MSA Arena).
