The Abbotsford Pilots host the opening game of the Pacific International Junior Hockey League final against the Richmond Sockeyes on Friday.
The Sockeyes, who finished first overall in the PIJHL with a 37-5-4 record during the regular season, needed seven games to dispose of the Delta Ice Hawks in the Tom Shaw Conference finals. They finished off the Hawks with a 3-2 win in Wednesday’s Game 7.
The Pilots, who also needed seven games to defeat the Port Moody Black Panthers in the Harold Brittain Conference final, host Game 1 of the best-of-seven championship series on Friday at 7:30 p.m. at MSA Arena.
